The first official game of Karpaty veterans took place on June 20, 1987 in Volya-Branetska of Lviv region, where they faced the local team. The game ended with 3:3 draw.
FC Karpaty never stopped short of providing financial support to the veterans’ team, so that they could participate in different tournaments. On various occasions through the years Karpaty veterans were also supported by Yaroslav Chernyshevych (Split Casino) and Mykola Rohutskyy (Artor Corporation). Mykhailo Tymkiv is the long-time president of the public organization FC Karpaty Veterans, while Rostyslav Potochnyak is the head coach of the team. In 1993 Karpaty veterans’ team became the medalist of futsal open championship of Poland. In 1998 Karpaty veterans being part of the Ukrainian veterans’ team took 4th place at Veterans World Cup in France. Karpaty veterans are the champions of Ukraine (2003), Ukranian Supercup holders (2004) and Ukrainian championship runners-up (2008). |
